Engineering & Construction Paraprofessional Intern

Job Summary: The intern will assist with various Engineering and Construction projects throughout the assignment. Project Title: District-Wide CSO/Collection System updates in Geographical Information System (GIS)-Review of Project-Specific CSO/Collection System line work and GlS Support-Review and QC historic and current CSO/Collection systems sewer alignment, facilities, and future easement/property data-Work with GIS department to enter data into GIS-Track and review ongoing design project updatesProject Title: Various Planning, Plant and Collection System Project Support
-Assist in procurement of a consultant including assistance in the development of project RFPs-Review invoices, progress reports, and schedules-Assist with review of program-level project schedules and coordination-Sharepoint project update-Sharepoint file maintenance/management-Business process analysis and workflow developmentProject Title: Geotechnical, Tunnel and CSO/Collections Deliverables review
-Review project deliverables (Drawings, specifications, reports) and assist PMs with collection and distribution of formal review comments-Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical and other reports-Assist project PMs with consolidation of comments generated by review team-Distribute and track comment resolution as it pertains to project-Attend project meetings to review comments
Project Title: Capital Improvement Planning Support
-Assist in CIP project scope, schedule and cost development-Assist in Business Risk Exposure scoring of projects nominated for the CIP-Assist in analysis of overall CIP cash flow and prioritization
Project Title: Plant Automation PLC Replacement-Assist PM with managing consultant field activities at either the Southerly or Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant-Provide reports of progress and recommend remedial action where required-Manage access to Districts record drawings and asset databases.

Minimum Job Requirements:
-Candidate must be able to work 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday Fridayduring normal business hours. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.
-Candidate must be able to commit to up to a 6-month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD s discretion. This internship program provides for a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of employment for any period of time as the selected candidate is at will. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices and procedures related to temporary employees, including employment at will.
-Candidate must possess a valid driver s license with a driving record in accordance with the District s acceptable guidelines
Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor degree program or better with a declared major of Civil Engineering or closely related field of study. Candidates graduated from a related program within 24 months of the date of application preferred.
